Dallas Cowboys safety CJ Spillman is under investigation by police regarding an alleged sexual assault.
The 28-year-old has become the latest NFL player involved in a high-profile off-field incident, but has not been arrested or charged.
Grapevine police spokesman Sgt Robert Eberling has stated that Spillman is alleged to have committed the assault in the early hours of September 20 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, where the team stay.
The news comes just weeks after Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely after CCTV footage emerged of him knocking out his then-fiancee in a casino lift.
Last month, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was indicted for child abuse, while Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was recently arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
