England pair Ashley Cole and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain reportedly stay behind in Brazil to take part in a Nike event.

England duo Ashley Cole and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were reportedly forced to stay behind in Brazil after their international friendly in order to carry out duties for sponsors Nike.

The pair were expected to fly home with the rest of their England teammates following the 2-2 draw at the Maracana, but instead remained in Rio de Janeiro for a Nike event.

The duo are expected to appear in a photoshoot and a question-and-answer panel for Nike retailers, according to the Daily Mail.

The global sports brand are launching their swoosh World Cup marketing campaign.
