Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says that he is working towards earning his 100th cap for England.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has admitted that he would feel "very proud" to rack up 100 caps for England.

The 34-year-old is four appearances away from reaching his century so he can join captain Steven Gerrard and Blues teammate Ashley Cole in the record books.

"I am on 96, I have been around for an awful long time," Sky Sports News quotes Lampard as saying. "I saw Stevie get that gold cap, which was well deserved, and then Ash last night. If I can get there and can stay involved in future games then I would be a very proud man if I did reach that."

Lampard scored the Three Lions' only goal in their 1-1 draw with the Republic of Ireland in an international friendly at Wembley yesterday.
