A civil servant who works on Merseyside has reportedly been sacked for posting Hillsborough insults from government computers.
An investigation was launched after alterations were made on Wikipedia pages to mock the 96 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives in the 1989 disaster.
The man edited the Anfield page to write, 'this is a shithole', while also adapting the phrase, 'you'll never walk alone' to 'you'll never walk again'.
On a page written about Liverpool's Hillsborough memorial at their stadium, the man posted 'nothing for the victims of the Heysel disaster'.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude is expected to confirm that the official has been sacked from his job.
The newspaper has revealed that at the request of the Hillsborough support groups, the man has not been named.
