A Manchester United supporter is hoping to gain £8,000 for two match programmes from the postponed 1958 game between the Red Devils and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The game was originally abandoned because of the Munich air disaster, which took the lives of eight players and 23 passengers.
The 12-page programmes, which are deemed the 'Holy Grail' as most were destroyed following the plane crash, were found in the loft of Keith Hames's home in Hyde.
"The other day I sold something on eBay for the first time and it started me off thinking," Hames told the Manchester Evening News.
"I knew I had a load of United programmes and I had a look to see if any were valuable. I saw a story about the Wolves programmes and how one had gone for £7,000. I went to the loft and they were right at the top of the bag. I don't think I will get that much but we will see what happens."
Hames's father Harry originally owned the programmes as he worked for printers Phillips Park Press, who created the magazines.
