Phil Neville "erupted" at news of father's cheating

Phil Neville's father reveals in court that his son "erupted" when he found out that his dad had cheated on his mother.

The father of former Manchester United footballer Phil Neville has revealed in court that his son "erupted" when he told him that he had cheated on his mother.

Neville Neville is currently on trial at Bolton Crown Court for alleged sexual assault in relation to an incident with a woman following a night out in March.

The 64-year-old has been accused of forcing himself upon a woman in her car after she offered to give him a lift home.

Neville has denied assault, claiming that what occurred between the pair was consensual.

According to the Manchester Evening News, while giving evidence, Neville explained: "He erupted, basically. He said 'you have got the most loveliest wife ever'. He said, 'she loved you to death'. I was crying at this stage."

Neville, who is also father to ex-United captain Gary, revealed that he told his son Phil and daughter Tracey after admitting the news to his wife at the police station.
