Paul Gascoigne's stepdaughter Bianca has revealed that the England football legend has suffered a "big, big relapse" in his battle against alcoholism.
The 47-year-old has had a drinking problem for the large majority of his adult life, and several stints at rehab facilities have made headlines over the years.
Recently, the former Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur player seemed to be in a healthier state, but Bianca Gascoigne has claimed that he has fallen off the wagon again, and she blames fans for buying him alcohol.
"He's had a big, big relapse and we've done everything we can to keep him on the straight and narrow," the Daily Star quotes Bianca as saying. "We've been there helping and supporting Paul and if I could wave a magic wand to make him better then I would.
"A taxi driver went to pick him up and he ordered another taxi that went to get him booze which I'm furious with. People do it all the time - it's how he gets it."
Gascoigne was due to attend an event organised by Bianca in London, but reportedly pulled out due to his current state.
