UK Sport have relaxed their ruling that athletes could lose their funding if they visit lap dancing or strip clubs.
The new 'misconduct and disrepute' guidelines released on Wednesday used adult entertainment venues as an example that could hamper athletes' eligibility for funding.
Following the announcement, Olympic boxer Luke Campbell blasted the rule as "ridiculous", causing UK Sport to clarify their position.
According to The Telegraph, UK Sport released a statement saying: "As a result of the consultation ahead of launching our new eligibility policy, a number of respondents requested examples, to suggest potential actions or behaviours that might, in theory, be considered acts of 'misconduct' or 'disrepute'.
"We accept that one of the examples we included was not helpful and has subsequently led to confusion. Therefore we have taken the decision to remove the example."
UK Sport has called on athletes to display responsible behaviour due to their position as role models.
