Two-time Tour de France winner Alberto Contador has been presented with a canary during a press conference ahead of his bid for a third yellow jersey.
The Spanish cyclist bred the birds during his childhood, resulting in two Dutch television personalities bringing one as a gift to the media day in Utrecht, which hosts this weekend's Grand Depart.
The 32-year-old's team shared a picture of Contador meeting the bird on Twitter:
Is the press conference canary bird #TinkoffSaxo or #TDF2015 yellow? No matter what, it'll lead the way at @letour!! pic.twitter.com/tQwqvCk0UY

Contador is aiming to become the first cyclist to win the Tour de France in the same year as the Giro d'Italia since Marco Pantani achieved the double in 1998.
