Paralympic star Ellie Simmonds wants 'packed crowd' at IPC World Championships

British Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds hopes that there will be a 'packed crowd' in Glasgow for the IPC World Championships in July.

Four-time Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds is hopeful that the Tollcross pool in Glasgow will be "packed" when the IPC World Championships begin in July.

The 20-year-old will try to add to her 13 gold medals when she competes in the same pool that staged last summer's Commonwealth Games.

The British swimmer, who aims to compete in three freestyle races, the 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley in the SM6 category, is hopeful that the atmosphere will mirror that of the London 2012 Paralympics

"What we had in London 2012 was incredible and that helped us as a home nation to achieve many things," Simmonds told Sports Mole.

"I hope it's packed and they're fully supporting us [in Glasgow], with a home crowd cheering us on. That does help having the home support and having that home advantage carry us."

The competition will get underway on July 13.
