Great Britain's Adam Peaty has claimed that he hopes to better his new world-record time when he takes to the pool in tomorrow's 50m breaststroke final at the World Championships in Kazan, Russia.
The 20-year-old soared into the final with a historic time of 26.42s in the semi-finals, beating Cameron van der Burgh's previous record of 26.62s.
"I felt really good this morning," Peaty told Eurosport. "I came back tonight to give it my best shot. It's not an Olympic event so it's a lot of fun. I hope tomorrow that I can improve on it."
Peaty has already won gold in Kazan following his 100m breaststroke triumph on Monday.
