Michael Phelps has powered through to the men's 200m butterfly final at London 2012 this evening.
The Baltimore Bullet won the second heat of the semi-finals with a time of 1:54.53, the fourth-fastest overall.
Takeshi Matsuda won the first heat with the fastest time of the semi-finals, finishing in 1:54.25. South African Chad le Clos was close behind on 1:54.34.
Tyler Clary, who once caused controversy by criticising compatriot Phelps, will race alongside his rival in the final after turning in a time of 1:54.93.
The men's 200m butterfly final takes place tomorrow evening (July 31).
