David Ferrer has reached the third round of the French Open following a straight-sets victory over Daniel Gimeno-Traver.
The seventh-seeded Spaniard was rarely troubled by his compatriot, securing an 11th straight appearance in the last 32 at Roland Garros with a 6-3 6-2 6-1 win - his fourth consecutive victory against Gimeno-Traver.

Although Ferrer was made to work hard in the opening set prior to gaining the crucial break in the eighth, two more breaks followed in the second as he quickly moved within a set of progression.
Four double-faults and 19 unforced errors in the finale from Gimeno-Traver - who was looking to match his best effort at a Slam with another third-round run - aided Ferrer's cause.
In the end, the 33-year-old reeled off the final six games to take his place in the third round, where he will take on Simone Bolelli.
