Bautista-Agut stormed out of the blocks on the clay court by going a break up at the first time of asking, and followed that up by holding his serve.

After Giraldo's early wobble, he was able to remain composed on his service games, but his opponent's initial break was enough to send the first set his way.

Bautista-Agut clinched another early break as Giraldo opened the second set, but games continued to go by the way of serve from that point.

Giraldo came close to grabbing his first break point, but his opponent managed to see out the game from an advantage to keep him in the lead.

Once again, the first break of serve was enough for Bautista-Agut to grab the set and the victory.
