Record-breaking teenager Mikaela Shiffrin wants five golds in 2018

American teenager Mikaela Shiffrin says that she hopes to win five gold medals at the Pyeongchang Games in 2018.

American teenager Mikaela Shiffrin has said that she hopes to win five gold medals at the Pyeongchang Games in 2018.

The 18-year-old became the youngest ever Olympic slalom champion earlier this week and then quickly added to her own hype by setting the ambitious target.

However, she then added: "Sorry, I just admitted that to you all.

"I want to branch out, but I don't want to do it too soon. I have strength to gain over the next two summers.

"I don't want to push myself too far, too fast, and definitely don't get greedy."

Prior to her success in Sochi, Shiffrin won gold at last year's FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming.
