The Undertaker will be looking to extend his undefeated streak to 22 when he faces Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans in 10 days' time.
However, since making his debut at the annual supershow in 1991, 'The Phenom' has had to endure several near misses in matches that have seen him compete for the world title on numerous occasions, while also taking part in two 'Hell in a Cell' matches.
Below, Sports Mole selects five defining moments of the unbeaten run that has seen The Undertaker become immortalised at the pay-per-view.
Wrestlemania XIII - Sycho Sid
The Undertaker's bout with Sycho Sid isn't one that will live long in the memory, but it is the first time that 'Taker won the WWF Championship on the "grandest stage of them all".
After Bret Hart had attempted to bring a halt to the match in the early stages, Sid dominated a slow encounter in which he got the better of his opponent with a series of power moves, while also attacking The Undertaker with a television monitor.
The finish came when Hart returned to distract Sid, allowing 'Taker to take full advantage by delivering a tombstone piledriver to the champion to win the world title for a second time.
Wrestlemania XIV - Kane
After being denied a win over Shawn Michaels on two occasions by his brother Kane, The Undertaker's feud with his sibling moved to Wrestlemania XIV for a match where he was widely considered to be the underdog.
'The Big Red Machine' frequently displayed his superior strength against 'Taker, enabling him to maintain the upper hand in their memorable 17-minute contest to give himself the opportunity of hitting a tombstone on the man who had made the move his trademark finisher.
However, 'Taker kicked out, and after two tombstones of his own were repelled by Kane, a third secured the three count in what turned out to be the most significant threat to the streak for over a decade.
Wrestlemania XXVI - Shawn Michaels
The Undertaker had come through a match-of-the-year contender with Shawn Michaels 12 months earlier at the 25th anniversary of the supershow, and the two renewed acquaintances the following year in Phoenix as they headlined Wrestlemania XXVI.
On this occasion, Michaels's career was on the line as he looked to justify his tag of 'Mr Wrestlemania', and 'The Show-stopper' delivered one of the performances of his career as he took The Undertaker to the brink of his first loss in his 18th Wrestlemania encounter.
However, despite hitting his sweet-chin-music finisher three times, Michaels couldn't keep 'Taker down, and after kicking out of two tombstones, Michaels's defiance went unrewarded as he suffered a third that finally brought an epic clash to an end.
The show closed with both men shaking hands in a show of respect for The Undertaker remaining unbeaten and Michaels ending his star-studded career.
Wrestlemania XXVII - Triple H
Triple H had already failed in an attempt to beat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania X-Seven, but he worked himself into a second opportunity to go toe-to-toe with 'The Phenom' at Wrestlemania XXVII as he looked to succeed where best friend Michaels had failed.
The match was billed as a 'No Holds Barred' contest and both men fought out a brutal match that saw each combatant deliver the pedigree and tombstone respectively on several occasions without being able to secure victory.
Triple H looked in control as he screamed at 'Taker to stay down after numerous chair shots, but after attempting to inflict a final blow with a sledgehammer, The Undertaker countered by applying his hell's gate submission hold to force 'The King of Kings' to tap out.
After the match, The Undertaker had to be helped from the ring as questions were raised as to whether he had made his final appearance at Wrestlemania.
Wrestlemania XXVIII - Triple H
After a 10-month break, The Undertaker returned ahead of Wrestlemania XXVII eager to secure a rematch with Triple H after being unsatisfied with how their previous bout had reached a conclusion.
Despite initially refusing a second encounter, Triple H changed his mind and a Hell in a Cell match was made with Shawn Michaels, who had involved himself in the feud, being the guest referee.
In a match that more than lived up to their previous meeting, 'Taker survived several pedigrees, while also having to withstand interference from Michaels, who delivered an instinctive sweet chin music midway through the contest.
However, The Undertaker fought on, and after finally moving to 20-0 with his patented tombstone, the trio left the ring in unison before embracing at the top of the entrance as they created their own Wrestlemania moment.
