New Orleans Saints hold a one-point advantage over the Atlanta Falcons at half time in their NFC South clash at the Georgia Dome.
The Falcons (2-8) are battling to avoid a third defeat at home this season, something that has not happened in Smith's five-year tenure, while Sean Payton's side are currently top of the division on 8-2.
Steven Jackson gave the home side the lead with just over six minutes on the clock, taking a hand-off from Matt Ryan to rush the endzone from a yard out.
However, the Saints hit back through Drew Brees, who found tight end Benjamin Watson with a touchdown pass with just over one minute remaining in the first quarter.
Matt Bryant edged the Falcons ahead once more with a 39-yard field goal, but another good play from Brees gave the Saints a four-point lead.
The quarterback deceived Mike Smith's defence with a play-action pass before locating Jimmy Graham to touch down early in the second quarter, although Bryant made it 14-13 before the break.
