Steve Smith has said that he "overdid it" in his second practice in preparation from the Carolina Panthers' playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.
The wide receiver sustained a knee sprain during the team's win over the New Orleans Saints last month, but had been optimistic of playing against the NFC West side on Sunday.
However, he told reporters: "71 [%] yesterday. I think I overdid it. 57 [%] today. Just went down.
"If we're on a curve, no. If we're on a curving grading system, there is no setback. If there's no curve, then it's a setback.
"Just didn't go as well as I thought. It will be all right. A little treatment. I did everything. I just probably overdid it."
Smith finished the regular season with 745 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
