Half-Time Report: Detroit Lions tied with Chicago Bears

Matt Forte cancels out an early touchdown from Reggie Bush to keep the Chicago Bears level with the Detroit Lions.

The Chicago Bears scored a touchdown just before half time to head into the break tied at 7-7 with the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field this evening.

Jimmy Clausen was promoted to starting quarterback ahead of Jay Cutler in the build-up to this game, but the 27-year-old was three and out on his first drive.

The visitors opened the scoring shortly before the end of the first quarter when Matthew Stafford handed the ball off to Reggie Bush, who ran for the touchdown from 21 yards out.

After Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte both missed the chance to level for scores for the Bears, Stafford tried a long pass for Golden Tate early in the second, but the wayward effort was intercepted in the endzone by Brock Vereen.

The Lions were back in Chicago territory soon after, but once again Stafford was picked off while looking for the endzone, with Ryan Mundy claiming the interception.

A muffed punt return gave the Bears the ball in a good field position just before the break, allowing Clausen to toss the ball out wide for Forte to run over, levelling the scores.
