The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed that Blaine Gabbert will be the team's starting quarterback for the 2013 NFL season.
The 23-year-old, who will miss the next two weeks with a hairline fracture in his hand, had been competing with Chad Henne during the AFC South side's training camp.
Head coach Gus Bradley told the team's official website: "I thought he did a really good job through the entire process of staying mentally focused. In two weeks, he should have a chance to come back and begin his preparation"
Gabbert completed 13 of his 16 attempts for 165 yards and a touchdown during the Jaguars' pre-season game against the New York Jets at the weekend.
