Miami Dolphins will delay Jonathan Martin meeting

Miami Dolphins president Tom Garfinkel reveals that the club will comply with the request from the NFL to delay their meeting with Jonathan Martin.

Miami Dolphins president Tom Garfinkel has confirmed that the club have been asked to delay their meeting with offensive tackle Jonathan Martin.

Owner Stephen Ross admitted that he wanted to speak to Martin in light of the bullying scandal that has rocked the NFL to get his side of the story.

However, independent investigator Ted Wells - hired by the league - has requested that they wait until he has had a chance to speak to the player before they do.

Garfinkel told ProFootballTalk.com: "Ted Wells and the NFL have asked that we delay our meeting with Jonathan Martin, until they have the opportunity to meet with him first.

"Out of deference to the process, we will cooperate with their request. We look forward to meeting with Jonathan Martin as soon as possible."

The Dolphins fell to 4-5 in their season following their defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday.
