Miami Dolphins cornerback Jamar Taylor has admitted that he thought he would have to retire from the NFL following a spate of injuries in his rookie season last year.
Taylor, who was drafted in the second round in 2013, required hernia surgery at the start of his Dolphins career and did not return until after the beginning of the season, subsequently appearing in just nine games.
"It was to the point last year I thought I was done playing football," Taylor told the Idaho Statesman. "I didn't want to play anymore. I was out of it.
"Thank God for my girlfriend, my family, my pastors and God - because I made it through and kept working. I'm really looking forward to this year. I'm going to turn a lot of heads."
Taylor took part in just 45 snaps in his rookie season.
