Half-Time Report: St Louis Rams in full control against hapless Oakland Raiders

Touchdowns from Tre Mason, Shaun Hill and Tavon Austin see the St Louis Rams ease into a half time lead against the Oakland Raiders.

The St Louis Rams are easing their way to victory over the 1-10 Oakland Raiders at the Edward Jones Dome in Missouri.

After the Raiders failed to get a drive going with their first possession, Shaun Hill stepped up for the Rams, dumping off a pass to Tre Mason. The running back collected the short throw before sprinting down the right side and into the endzone for a 35-yard score.

Once more, the Raiders conceded the ball too easily, allowing Hill to drive his side up into the red zone. With the Raiders expecting Mason to carry the ball, Hill faked and ran in for the touchdown himself, the fourth of his career to date.

Then, on the very next play, an 18-yard left-end rush from Tavon Austin was enough to make it a 21-point deficit.

The Raiders continued to struggle to contain the Rams into the second quarter, with Mason adding his second score of the day with 11 minutes remaining. After breaking a tackle, the rusher ran for an 89-yard score, with blockers in place allowing him to further embarrass the opposition.

A fifth score was added by Cory Harkey, receiving a pass from Hill after the Raiders picked off Derek Carr.

Kicker Greg Zuerlein extended the lead, and in doing so broke a franchise record for first half points, to 38-0 before the break with a short field goal.
