Tampa Bay Buccaneers co-chairman Bryan Glazer has said that he is "confident" that new head coach Lovie Smith is the right man to get the best out of the team.
Smith has a good record in the NFL, serving as an assistant coach with both the Buccaneers and the St Louis Rams before joining the Chicago Bears as head coach.
With the Bears, Smith had an 81-63 record, reaching two NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl, but Glazer believes that the glowing references he received from other people involved in the game are even more impressive.
"As amazing as that winning pedigree sounds, what resonates even more is Lovie's high character and personal integrity," Glazer told reporters.
"As we talked to people around the league about him, we heard things like 'man of high principles and values,' 'master motivator,' 'great teacher,' 'calm and steady leader'.
"We are confident he is the right man to get the absolute best out of our team."
Smith will look to improve on the Buccaneers' 4-12 record from this season.
