Half-Time Report: Philadelphia Eagles race into comfortable lead

The Philadelphia Eagles take a 27-17 lead into half time of their NFL match against the Tennessee Titans, thanks largely to 17 unanswered points in the opening quarter.

The Philadelphia Eagles scored 17 unanswered points in the first quarter to help them to a 27-17 lead over the Tennessee Titans at half time of their NFL clash this evening.

The hosts began the match in incredible fashion when Josh Huff collected the kickoff and immediately returned it 107 yards for a touchdown after just 13 seconds of play.

Things got even better for the Eagles shortly afterwards as they doubled their early advantage courtesy of Darren Sproles's fifth rushing touchdown of the season, battling over the line from four yards out.

Cody Parkey added a 36-yard field goal to give his side a commanding 17-point lead inside the first quarter, but the Titans reduced that to 10 at the start of the second.

Mark Sanchez threw an interception for the Eagles' 26th turnover of the season, and Justin Hunter kept his concentration to collect a tipped pass from Zach Mettenberger before racing in for a 40-yard score.

Parkey edged his side further ahead with a 26-yard kick shortly after, but the Titans continued to cut the deficit when Shonn Greene ran over the line from two yards out.

The Eagles extended their advantage once again with less than five minutes remaining of the half, however, as LeSean McCoy burst into the endzone for a two-yard score.

The Titans chipped away at the lead just before the break as Ryan Succop notched a 20-yard field goal, but the Eagles avoided any further damage to remain on course for a return to winning ways.
