Jade Jones: "It is overwhelming"

Team England's Jade Jones says that she was "overwhelmed" to claim bronze in the women's Para-sport 1,500m T54 event at the Commonwealth Games.

Women's Para-sport 1,500m T54 medallist Jade Jones has revealed her delight after finishing third at the Commonwealth Games on Thursday.

Jones picked up a bronze medal in Glasgow after finishing with a time of 4:00.19.

"It has been one of the major events on my schedule for the last few years, it has always been an aim. The Commonwealths are definitely up there with the Paralympics and World Championships," she told Sports Mole.

"It is my first senior medal so it is overwhelming. It is great to know I am progressing. It gives you that bit of confidence going into future competitions.

"I looked up and saw my name on the screen and it just did not sink in. It is all building blocks, Swansea next month and World Championships next year."

Australia's Angela Ballard picked up the gold.
