Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has admitted that he was only ever focused on guiding his team to success last season.
The 27-year-old was named the MVP of the NBA last season for his outstanding performances on the court for Steve Kerr's men, an accolade that was soon followed by the Warriors' triumph in the NBA Finals over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"I came into the league when I was 22, so I knew it's a process," Curry told reporters. "Every year you want to get a little bit better, a little bit better. The goal obviously is to win a championship. I've never really put MVP as a goal that would trump anything else.
"I feel like if you have team success and I'm doing my part, leading that charge, individual accolades would come. It's just amazing that it all happened in one year and now the goal is to hopefully do it all over again."
Curry averaged 23.8 points per game for the Warriors last season.
