Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento is reportedly left out of the England squad for Monday's World Cup 2026 qualifier with Latvia at Wembley.

Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento has reportedly been left out of the England squad for Monday's World Cup 2026 qualifier with Latvia at Wembley, but Thomas Tuchel has recalled two other players.

The Three Lions are bidding to make it two for two in Qualifying Group K after beginning the Tuchel reign with a 2-0 triumph over Albania on Friday, where Myles Lewis-Skelly and Harry Kane's strikes proved telling.

Tuchel had 26 players up for selection, but as UEFA rules stipulate that only 23 can be called up to a matchday squad, the German was forced to leave three unfortunate names out against Albania.

Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale, Liverpool's Jarell Quansah and Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White were the unlucky three omitted, but according to BBC Sport, the latter two are now back in.

Tuchel has lost Anthony Gordon due to the hip injury that the Newcastle winger sustained in the win over Albania, giving Gibbs-White the opportunity to make his first appearance under the new manager.

Quansah is also bidding to win his first senior cap for the England national team, and the Liverpool man has been promoted to the squad over Livramento, who has reportedly been cut from the ranks.

The 22-year-old was an unused substitute in the Three Lions' success over Albania on Friday but will seemingly be kept waiting for his second England cap, having made his senior debut against the Republic of Ireland in November's 5-0 UEFA Nations League win.

Livramento would have been an alternative option at left-back for England, but Arsenal's Lewis-Skelly now seemingly has a good chance of making back-to-back starts for Tuchel's side.

The Three Lions are out to avoid suffering an unwanted 66-year losing first in Monday's meeting with Latvia, whom they have never faced in a men's senior international match before.

Could Gibbs-White, Quansah start against Latvia?

Gibbs-White and Quansah's promotions to the matchday squad spells optimism for their chances of getting onto the Wembley pitch tonight, but starting roles may be beyond both players.

The former is facing intense competition for the number 10 spot, which Jude Bellingham has nailed down as his own, as Eberechi Eze and Morgan Rogers can also function just off the striker.

Meanwhile, Quansah is a competent option both at right-back and centre-back, but if Kyle Walker is to lose his place in the former position, Reece James is surely the top contender to come in.

Furthermore, Marc Guehi and Levi Colwill are surely ahead of Quansah in the centre-back's pecking order, although Colwill is an alternative to Lewis-Skelly on the left-hand side if Tuchel decides to encase the Arsenal teenager in bubble wrap.
