Team USA have thrashed Nigeria in their Olympic Group A match this evening, scoring an Olympic record 156 points to Nigeria's 73.
The Americans showcased their quality in the opening quarter, producing a number of skilful moves to win it 49-25. The second quarter was a much closer affair, but still the Americans came out on top, eventually running out 29-20 winners, giving them a 78-45 lead at half-time.
The pre-tournament favourites went from strength to strength in the second half, taking the third quarter 41-17 and the final one 37-11 to give them the comprehensive victory.
America's Carmelo Anthony was the game's top scorer with 37, while Kobe Bryant hit 16 and LeBron James scored just six.
The 156 points scored by Team USA breaks the previous record held by Brazil, who scored 138 against Egypt in Seoul in 1988.
