One of Liverpool's current left-backs is reportedly set to hold 'crunch talks' with the Reds over his future at the club this summer.

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson is reportedly set to hold 'crunch talks' with the Reds hierarchy over his future at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old is on the verge of winning a second Premier League winners' medal, as Arne Slot's men hold a 12-point lead at the top of the table with just nine games left to play.

After years of excellent service to Jurgen Klopp, Robertson has remained a critical player for Slot in the 2024-25 campaign, making 39 appearances in all tournaments and starting 24 Premier League games.

However, Robertson has only managed to conjure up one assist in the current season, and the Scotland international has also suffered a noticeable defensive decline after entering the second half of his career.

Liverpool are being tipped to sign Robertson's long-term successor in the summer transfer window, and they have a huge a decision to make on the 31-year-old, whose current deal only runs until 2026.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool and Robertson will sit down to discuss the left-back's future at the end of the season, although the Reds are keen for him to stay on for a little while longer.

While Robertson still has 12 months left on his current terms, the Reds are at an increasing risk of losing all of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk when their deals expire in June.

There does not appear to have been any significant progress in efforts to tie any member of the trio down to new contracts, meaning that Slot could lose three of his 'leaders' at the end of the season.

As a result, the Reds want Robertson to stay on as one of the experienced heads of the team, but it is not clear whether he will be in line for a renewal or will simply leave for free in the summer of 2026.

The former Hull City and Dundee United man has produced 11 goals and 66 assists in 336 matches for Liverpool, who paid just £7.5m to bring him to Anfield in the summer of 2017.

At one stage, Robertson was supposedly on the radar of Bayern Munich as the German giants prepared for Alphonso Davies's possible exit, but the Canadian ended up signing a new deal at the Allianz Arena.

As Kostas Tsimikas has played backup to Robertson for the entirety of his Anfield stay, there is nothing to suggest that the Greece international will finally be promoted to the role of first choice when his superior leaves.

Instead, Liverpool are apparently closing in on a deal for top target Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth, having accelerated their pursuit of the Hungary international amid competition from Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Fulham's Antonee Robinson is also thought to have admirers at Anfield, but the USA international is six years older than Kerkez and recently played down speculation linking him with a switch to Liverpool.
