The British Boxing Board of Control condemns the decision to allow David Haye to fight Dereck Chisora later this year.

The British Boxing Board of Control have condemned the decision to allow a fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora in July to go ahead.

Chisora had his boxing licence revoked by the BBBofC in March following his brawl with Haye at a Munich press conference.

As a result, he would not have legally been able to take to the ring against Haye without regaining his licence.

However, a governing body in Luxembourg has granted permission for a fight to take place at Upton Park.

"Those behind this proposal are not concerned with the interests of the sport of professional boxing," read a statement from the BBBofC.

"Any member who participates in such a promotion would bring the sport of boxing into disrepute and would wholly undermine the authority of the British Boxing Board of Control."

Haye will be coming out of retirement to take on Chisora.
