Dereck Chisora has denied that he would ever shoot David Haye and admitted that his emotions had gotten the better of him.

The two fighters were involved in a bust-up during the post-fight press conference following Chisora's points loss to Vitali Klischko in Munich earlier this month.

"David Haye tried to hijack my press conference, shouting at the Klitschkos," Chisora told the Sunday Sun. "Then he started calling me out, saying I had lost three fights on the spin and he would never fight me. I asked him if he wanted to tell me that to my face and I walked over to him.

"The next thing I know is he punched me with a bottle in his hand. I tripped and fell and dragged Haye with me. I was asking him 'are you serious?' I was shouting 'I am going to shoot you' but I would never do that, I don't have a gun, I don't want a gun.

"I've known David for a while. I think he is a cool guy but the emotion of the night took us all in a direction none of us wanted to go in. I regret everything I said. I am sorry."

Chisora faces a British Boxing Board of Control disciplinary hearing on March 14, where he could face a lengthy ban from the sport.
