Lamont Peterson accuses Amir Khan of being arrogant ahead of their rematch in Las Vegas on May 19.

Lamont Peterson has accused Amir Khan of being arrogant by suggesting that the American cannot fight better than he did in their first contest.

The 2004 Olympic silver medallist has even predicted that he will win their eagerly-awaited May 19 rematch at the Mandalay Bay by knockout.

"How can you just assume that I can't fight better than what I fought him in Washington DC and he can?" questioned Peterson. "I won't say the same about him. I expect him to fight a better fight but, at the same time, I know I'm going to be better."

Peterson also answered cheating claims put forward by Khan's camp following the appearance of the 'man in a hat', who appeared at ringside during the fight.

"There was no cheating going on in DC," Peterson insisted. "Deep down inside Khan knows that.

"The points being taken away from him? They should have took points. Pushing is one thing. Forearming someone in the face then pushing off is another. Any time you do damage to someone due to fouls you should get points deducted."

The 'man in a hat' later turned out to be Mustafa Ameen, an IBF official.
