Australia are planning to recall David Warner for the third Test of the Ashes on Thursday, according to a report.
The batsman will replace Phil Hughes in the middle order for the clash with England if Steve Smith is passed fit, The Mirror reports.
Warner was banned for striking England's Joe Root in a Birmingham bar back in June, but Australia captain Michael Clarke believes that his teammate has put the incident behind him.
"Hopefully he will bring a lot of runs," he said. "He got 190-odd runs under his belt which is a positive considering our batters haven't scored many runs so far on this tour.
"At the time, Davy made it clear he was extremely apologetic for what occurred and he knows what the expectations are as an Australian cricketer.
"I'm very confident he's learned from what has happened in the past, and is trying to put it behind him and move forward and I think he's doing a really good job."
England go into the third Test 2-0 up, meaning that they can secure the Ashes with a win.
