Australia captain Michael Clarke has condemned the behaviour of opening batsman David Warner, who punched England's Joe Root while in a bar last weekend.
The 26-year-old, who admitted to drinking alcohol before the incident at a Walkabout bar in Birmingham, has been suspended by Cricket Australia until the first Ashes Test in July.
"I've said in the past that [Warner] does have a lot of leadership qualities but he knows how clearly I feel," Clarke said in a press conference. "His behaviour is unacceptable as an Australian cricketer.
"Our behaviour generally has been outstanding. David knows how disappointed the team and I am with his behaviour. He will have to do everything in his power now to get into the team for the first Test."
Warner, who struck Root following the Aussies' defeat to England in the ICC Champions Trophy match at Edgbaston, has also been fined £7,000.
