The Proteas suffered an early wobble when Quinton de Kock was dismissed for a duck with just one run on the board.

James Faulkner impressed in the field for Australia by nabbing three wickets, one of which was Jean-Paul Duminy, who top-scored for South Africa on 49.

Australia went into bat with Ben Dunk and Aaron Finch, with a target of 102 after snatching seven wickets from South Africa after 20 overs.

The opening batsmen started strongly and the Proteas could only nab the wickets of Dunk (23), Shane Watson (30) and Glenn Maxwell for a duck as Australia strode to victory.

Finch led the charge for his nation as he ended the contest unbeaten on 44 off 30 balls.

The series sits at 1-1 heading into the third and final T20.
