A blistering half-century from David Warner has guided Australia to 113-2 at lunch on day one of the first Test against India.
Michael Clarke won the toss and elected to bat at Adelaide, and his side's openers Chris Rogers and Warner responded with a strong start.
The duo put 50 on the board at the start of the eighth over thanks to some strong hitting from Warner, who dominated the partnership, before Rogers fell for nine as he was caught by Shikhar Dhawan off the bowling of Ishant Sharma.
Warner continued his attacking display when he was joined at the crease by Shane Watson, but he was soon back in the pavilion for just 14 as he fell to Varun Aaron.
The 28-year-old brought up his fifty off 45 balls, which included nine boundaries, as he and Clarke moved Australia past the 100-run mark in the 22nd over, and they were in a solid position as the umpires called time on the first session, with Warner on 77 unbeaten.
