England batsman Ian Bell has admitted that he is enjoying his move up the order in one-day cricket after making an unbeaten 91 against India A yesterday.
Bell scored 91 in just 89 balls but could not stop Ashley Giles starting his reign as limited-overs coach with a 53-run defeat to the hosts in the first warm-up match in Delhi.
In the absence of ill skipper Alastair Cook an opening pair of Bell and Kevin Pietersen was selected, a role that Bell has insisted he is relishing.
He told Sky Sports News: "I've enjoyed opening, 100%, it's gone really well in the last three series.
"We've got plenty of options but it's something I've really enjoyed and something hopefully I do consistently now.
"It's nice to be at the top of the order and get some time in the middle."
England will play one more warm-up match on Tuesday ahead of a five-match series against India.
