AB de Villiers believes that England are lacking a batsman in their current side ahead of the first ODI in Cardiff.

AB de Villiers has claimed that England are lacking depth in the batting department ahead of the first match of the ODI series.

The South Africa side face Alastair Cook's men in Cardiff on Friday following the Proteas' Test side's recent success over England.

De Villiers has admitted that England's reliance on Tim Bresnan's batting at seven could be something they target in the series.

The batsman said: "I think they are a little bit light in the batting department - that might be something that we will be attacking. We'll see.

"They've got Bresnan that I think they rely on quite a bit coming in at seven. The reason why they're playing conservatively up front is because they're a batter light. They don't go with the wicketkeeper at seven like most teams do."

Albie Morkel is the only major fitness concern for South Africa ahead of Friday's game in Wales.
