The start of the fifth day of the second Test between England and New Zealand is delayed due to rain.

The start of the fifth day of the second Test between England and New Zealand has been delayed due to wet weather.

The covers, which were drawn overnight at Headingley due to rain, are expected to be removed at some point during the day, which began in gloomy conditions.

While play was due to begin with the Black Caps on 158-6 at 11am, it has since been confirmed from an 11.20am pitch inspection that play will begin following a 45-minute delay.

England could pay the price for delaying their decision to declare, which they eventually did yesterday with a 467-run lead. However, the hosts still need to take four wickets in order to win the Test.
