New Zealand have beaten the West Indies by 81 runs in Auckland in the first game of a two-match Twenty20 series.
After winning the toss, the Black Caps posted a total of 189-5, with captain Brendon McCullum topscoring with 60* off 45 balls.
Luke Ronchi also finished unbeaten, having made 48 from 25 deliveries.
The Windies started their chase well, scoring 11 off the first over. However, their innings quickly stalled after Lendl Simmons was dismissed for a duck in the second.
Fellow opener Johnson Charles made a modest 16, which was the second highest West Indian score behind wicketkeeper Andre Fletcher's 23, as the tourists' reply ended on 108-8.
The second match will take place in Wellington on Wednesday.
