Eoin Morgan rules out Kevin Pietersen Twenty20 return

Kevin Pietersen will not play for England at the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, confirms captain Eoin Morgan.

Captain Eoin Morgan has dismissed the idea that Kevin Pietersen will return to the England squad for next month's Twenty20 World Cup in India.

The controversial batsman has not represented his country in any format since the end of the 2013-14 Ashes series.

His form with the bat in the recent Ram Slam and Big Bash League had resulted in calls for the 35-year-old to be recalled, but Morgan has firmly closed the door.

"That door is completely shut. Kevin will not be picked. That's from me," he told the Daily Mail.

Pietersen was part of the England side that won the T20 World Cup in 2010.
