Perth Scorchers beat Sydney Thunder by six wickets in their Big Bash match at the WACA.

Perth Scorchers have secured a six-wicket victory over Sydney Thunder in their Big Bash match at the WACA this morning.

Sydney won the toss and elected to bat first, but openers Tillakaratne Dilshan and Daniel Hughes fell early on to Jason Behrendorff and Yasir Arafat respectively.

Eoin Morgan top-scored with 48 off 30 balls to help his side end their 20 overs on 157-6.

Chasing 158 for the victory, the Scorchers lost Craig Simmons in the fourth over when he was caught by Chris Tremain off Dirk Nannes for nine.

However, Simon Katich hit 75 off 42 deliveries before Mitchell Marsh (34*) and Ashton Turner (3*) hit the winning runs with four balls remaining as the Scorchers finished on 161-4.
