Gerwyn Price moves closer to the top of the Premier League standings by winning Week 11 in Brighton.

Gerwyn Price has moved to within two points of Michael van Gerwen at the top of the Premier League standings with victory in Brighton on Week 11.

Having won on the seventh and eighth weeks, Price had to make do with semi-final appearances in Berlin and Birmingham respectively.

However, the Welshman was back to his best on Thursday, producing some scintillating darts on the way to defeating Michael Smith by a 6-3 scoreline in the final.

En route to the South Coast showpiece, Price averaged 115.97 in recording a 6-2 win over Chris Dobey and posting 108.08 in a 6-5 triumph over Michael Gerwen.

The former world number one failed to replicate that form during the first half of the final, allowing Smith to open up a 3-2 lead with a break of throw.

Nevertheless, Price was able to reel off four legs in succession to see off the current world champion with an average of 100.08.

Price now sits within touching distance of leader Van Gerwen having recorded his fourth weekly win, while Smith has regained third place from Jonny Clayton who he beat in his opening match of the evening.

As such, Nathan Aspinall lost ground on the top four, while Peter Wright is now only two points from moving off bottom spot courtesy of beating Aspinall having initially been 4-0 down.

Dobey and Dimitri van den Bergh suffered quarter-final defeats for the fourth week in succession, and are now seven and eight points adrift of fourth-placed Clayton.
