Phil Taylor too good for Peter Wright

Phil Taylor averages 107.85 as he beats Peter Wright 9-3 to set up a last-eight meeting with Raymond van Barneveld at the Players Championship Finals.

Phil Taylor produced a champion's performance to cruise into the last eight of the Players Championship Finals on Saturday night.

The tournament favourite, who has already won six PDC premier events in 2013, averaged 107.85 as he beat Peter Wright 9-3.

Taylor hit three 180s and found the target with nine of his 20 darts at doubles.

The 16-time world champion, who sealed victory with a 143 checkout, will meet old adversary Raymond van Barneveld in the quarter-finals on Sunday.
