Police have arrested a 17-year-old man in connection with offensive tweets sent to Tom Daley, according to reports.
Police have made an arrest at a guest house in Weymouth following a series of abusive tweets, Sky Sports News reports.
Police were forced to investigate after Daley received a series of horrible messages on the social networking site following his participation in the synchronised 10m platform yesterday.
Daley finished fourth alongside partner Peter Waterfield and was subjected to a tirade of foul abuse from an account with the handle @Rileyy_69.
The troll sent Daley a number of posts online including: "You let your dad down i hope you know that. Sit your ass back down tommy and don't get on a diving board again my little brother could do better absolute waste of space."
Daley is the latest athlete to be the subject of cyber bullying following abuse suffered by Rebecca Adlington and Zoe Smith earlier this year.
