Jack Laugher: 'I will remember winning Olympic silver for rest of my life'

Team GB diver Jack Laugher says that he will remember winning Olympic silver in the men's 3m springboard final for the rest of his life.

Team GB diver Jack Laugher has claimed that he will remember winning Olympic silver in Rio de Janeiro for the rest of his life.

The 21-year-old earned the second spot on the podium with a score of 88.20 from his final dive in the men's 3m springboard final.

Laugher almost missed out on a spot in the showdown, but he scraped through the semi-final by a margin of just two points.

The silver medal follows the gold that he and diving partner Chris Mears won in the men's 3m synchro final.

After collecting his individual medal, Laugher told The Telegraph: "I will remember this the rest of my life. I knew I could medal at these Games.

"My performances have been on the up since 2013. Doing it is a completely different story. With so many nerves and pressure it is really hard. It is hard to get on the board and do it. This was about holding my composure."

China's Cao Yuan won gold, while Patrick Hausding of Germany secured bronze.
