There was mixed success for Team GB in the men's individual foil this morning, as fencers Marcus Mepstead and Richard Kruse qualified from the pool round, while Benjamin Peggs and Alex Tofalides missed out.
Both Mepstead and Kruse recorded two victories from five bouts to qualify for the last 32, which will get underway later this morning.
Meanwhile, Peggs failed to record a single victory in Group A, while Tofalides claimed one win in Group B.
Mepstead will face Italy's Francesco Ingargiola for a place in the last 16, while Kruse comes up against France's Jean-Paul Tony Helissey.
