The Championship side knocked out Premier League Dundee to reach the fifth round.

Aberdeen goalkeeper Joe Lewis was not surprised by Queen of the South's 3-0 win over Dundee in the previous round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.

And Lewis has warned Aberdeen that they need to match the Doonhamers' desire when the teams meet at Pittodrie in the fifth round on Sunday.

Stephen Dobbie netted a hat-trick as Queens swept Dundee aside in a replay on the same night Aberdeen were overcoming Stenhousemuir at the second attempt, and Lewis is well aware of the threats posed by the Dumfries side and their 37-goal striker.

When asked whether the fourth-round result was a surprise, Lewis said: "I don't think so, they've been doing well and certainly the goalscorer wasn't a surprise to anyone. The fact he's scored so many goals this season is a massive credit to him and their team.

"There's plenty for us to be occupied with in terms of looking at their team. We'll certainly look to have a big impact ourselves going forward and hopefully they'll have to worry about us more than we'll have to worry about them."

Dobbie's danger is well documented but Lewis knows they cannot solely focus on the 36-year-old striker when they do their homework on their visitors.

"It's not a shock to us, he's been scoring goals all season and I'm sure every team they come up against has a look at him, but he's not the only player in their team that can hurt us and he doesn't do it all himself I'm sure," Lewis said.

"We'll have a good look at them as we do every game, we have a good look at the opposition in the build-up. I'm sure he'll be one of many that we'll take a look at.

"They'll come up here and I'm sure enjoy the occasion and we need to first of all match their desire to win the game and hopefully the players in our team with the quality to win games, score goals can make the difference. But first and foremost, we need to match their desire."
