How AC Milan could line up against Sampdoria

Ahead of AC Milan's Serie A trip to Sampdoria this weekend, Sports Mole looks at how the Rossoneri could line up.

AC Milan head to Sampdoria on Saturday evening, aiming to preserve their eight-match unbeaten run away from home in Serie A.

The Rossoneri's last defeat on their travels in the Italian top flight came against city rivals Inter Milan in October 2018, albeit with that game taking place at San Siro.

Milan also lost to Inter in their most recent outing, but they are still four points clear of Roma in the race for a top-four finish.

Ahead of this weekend's trip to ninth-placed Sampdoria, Sports Mole looks at how Gennaro Gattuso's side could line up.

Possible ACM XI vs. SAM

Out: Giacomo Bonaventura
Doubtful: None

Bonaventura is Milan's only confirmed absentee for this trip to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Gattuso may therefore be tempted to stick with his favoured XI, spearheaded by in-form striker Krzysztof Piatek through the middle.

Only Kylian Mbappe (24) and Lionel Messi (21) have scored more goals from open play than the Poland international (16) in top five European leagues in 2018-19.

Andrea Conti has been used at right-back at times this season, but Davide Calabria is expected to get the nod for this match.
